About the Artist

Salt Hunter is a multi-media artist in Portland, Oregon. With an emphasis in graphite drawing, Salt also creates works in oil and acrylic painting, soft sculpture, and crochet. Salt has attended Cornish College of the Arts and Pacific Northwest College of Art. Salt has shown work at the Hiawatha Lofts Artspace, PNCA, and the Kirkland Teen Union Building.

Since falling in love with drawing, I’ve used my favorite materials to tell stories about learning how to be alive, love, grieve, and connect. My love for graphite stems from a quality inherent in the media: to achieve its highest intensity, it must take its softest form, and be used with the lightest touch.

When I’m not making, you can find me playing with my silly cats, sharing tea with friends, or planning my next trip to confront the ocean.
